Commemorations

 Series — Box: 4
Identifier: 3

Scope and Contents

In the series titled "Commemorations," these files contain flyers, programs, pamphlets, and memos of commemorations (the 1960s to 2000s) that happened in Connecticut remembering the Holocaust and Warsaw. This series also has files on newspaper clippings about commemorations of the Holocaust and Warsaw happening locally and nationally (the 1940s-2000s). A couple of newspapers are also about the "March of the Living," in Europe. Some other types of commemorations on the Holocaust and Warsaw are newspaper clippings on international events, a proclamation from the mayor in 1985 on making a week dedicated to remembering the Holocaust, and the sculpture on groups of the JCCGH. There is also a booklet with both remembrance and education called "Presidents Commission on the Holocaust," which addresses recommendations for education regarding the Holocaust, and important discussions from Elie Wiesel.
