Historical Note
According to a handwritten note in this collection, the Association was founded in 1904. Very little is known about this organization since the records in this collection are minimal. In the later years, most of the group's activity seems to have consisted of making small loans to relatives of the group's members and making donations to local Jewish organizations for charitable purposes. A ledger from the 1940s lists approximately 85 members, and the numbers declined until the 1960s when there appears to have been fewer than a dozen members. In 1967, the group disbanded and dispersed the assets to local charities.
