Historical Note
Brahilover Benefit Association was one of many burial societies founded in the Hartford area. It was established in March 1930. At a time when most insurance companies would not insure Jews, these societies paid for the funerals of their members and sometimes paid small death benefits to widows. William Sigal of Farmington, Connecticut was one of the founders.
