General

After glamorous and highly publicized beginnings, Colonial Realty achieved notoriety in the late 1980s and 1990s for unethical and illegal business practices. The failure of Colonial Realty contributed to the economic decline of Hartford during that period. This collection consists of newspaper clippings that document the rise and fall of the company and its principals, Frank Shuch, Benjamin Sisti, William Calderoni, and Jonathan Googel.
