Biographical / Historical
During World War II, the Stars and Stripes newspaper was the official U.S. miliary newspaper for Armed Forces personnel stationed overseas. It was originally published in London, England and administed by the Office of War Information in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force. Between 1942 and 1945, official editions of the newspaper were published in all European and African theaters of operation.
