Many of the items document the Klau’s family’s involvement in Zionism, especially Joseph and Sadie, as well as other community organizations. There are also JHSGH information, including a bulletin with Judge Klau’s obituary and information about oral history programs (Either featuring Sadie or Judge Joseph as interviewee or interviewer). There is a lot of material on Judge Klau, including a letter written by his sister to JHSGH with biographical information and information on his parents. There is a letter from Chester Bowles sent to Joseph Klau months before he won election as governor – referenced policy on Palestine. The collection has a number of membership cards for various local and national Jewish and community organizations. During the depression, Joseph and Sadie Klau worked to help the poor.
