Kahn, Dr. Lothar, 1961 - 1994
Scope and Contents
This file contains many newspaper clippings and obituaries, detailing Professor Lothar Kahn's career at Central Connecticut State University and his many publications. Many articles focus on the honorary degree posthumously grated to Kahn by the Johann Wolfgang Goeth Univeristy of Frankfurt, Germany. Other materials include newspaper and journal articles written by Kahn, a JHSGH newsletter, fliers for ordering several of Kahn's publications, and a memorial tribute written by his friend Rabbi Simon Noveck.
Kahn was born in Rehlingen, Saarland, Germany (though the region was under French control when Kahn was born). The Saarland voted to rejoin Germany in 1935, in 1937 Kahn left for America after helping other Jews get out. He was a leading scholar who focused on an international perspective.
