Biographical / Historical
Goodman Block was born in 1889 in New York City. Worked with the U.S. government during World War I to develop a submarine convoy system. The family ice cream parlor was supposedly one of the first to manufacture ice cream. Hyman C. Block was the youngest son of Goodman. Hyman lived in Hartford all his life, and served as an aviator in World War I.
